Ekiti Court Sentences Three to Death for Armed Robbery

The Ekiti State High Court in Ado Ekiti sentenced three individuals, Lasisi Afeez (33), Ilesanmi Seun (32), and Ajewole Peter (53), to death by hanging for their involvement in armed robbery. They were arraigned on four counts, including conspiracy, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of firearms.

The defendants were convicted of robbing a hospital, stealing a Toyota Corolla car, wedding rings, ATM cards, phones, laptops, and cash. The court heard testimonies of victims and found the defendants guilty based on evidence presented, including the recovery of stolen items and firearms.

The presiding judge, Justice Lekan Ogunmoy, pronounced the death sentence, emphasizing the seriousness of the crimes committed. This verdict follows a previous case where two individuals were also sentenced to death for armed robbery in Ado Ekiti.
