Rivers State Governor Fubara Announces Road Inauguration

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara announced that the 33.5km Elel-Umudioga-Egbeda-Ubimini-Ikiri-Omoku road is 90% complete and will be inaugurated in May. During an inspection of the dual carriageway traversing Ikwerr, Emohua, Ogba, Egbema, and Ndoni Local Government Areas, Fubara emphasized the project's significance in alleviating travel hardships and enhancing economic potential in Omoku, known as the gas city of Rivers State.

He described the road as a landmark achievement of his administration, aimed at expanding the road network and boosting economic activities across the state. Fubara also highlighted the security implications of the project, recalling historical criminal activities, including kidnappings along the route, which had made it a dangerous corridor.

He expressed optimism that the completion of the road would eliminate such issues, allowing security agencies easier access to the area. The governor commended the contractor for the quality and pace of work, particularly on the bridges across the river.
