AAAU's 3rd Matriculation: Commitment to Aviation Education

The African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU) in Abuja celebrated its third matriculation ceremony, marking a significant milestone in its development. Dr.

Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, the Acting Vice Chancellor, highlighted the university's rapid growth, noting an increase in student enrollment from 29 to 311 since its establishment. The university aims to bridge the manpower gap in the aviation and aerospace sector across Nigeria and Africa.

In 2023, AAAU began undergraduate academic activities with 52 undergraduates and 75 postgraduates. The matriculation ceremony revealed that 50 postgraduate students successfully defended their master's degree projects.

Dr. Abdullahi stressed the importance of discipline and hard work among students, warning against examination malpractice.

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, reaffirmed the federal government's commitment to developing AAAU as a premier institution in the field. He noted a global demand for aviation professionals, including 600,000 pilots and 700,000 aircraft maintenance technicians over the next decade.
