Shooting Stars Secure CAF Confederation Cup Spot

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has secured a place in the CAF Confederation Cup for the 2025/26 season, ending a 27-year absence from continental football. The club finished third in the Nigeria Premier Football League with 60 points, two points ahead of Ikorodu City, despite losing their final match 1-0 to Niger Tornadoes.

This achievement marks the first time since 1999 that 3SC will participate in continental competition, following their triumph in the league in 1998. The club has undergone significant structural changes in preparation for the upcoming season, including the appointment of Taiwo Lekan Salami as executive chairman to drive a cultural reset and reduce reliance on government funding.

Bunmi Fadayomi has been installed as chief operating officer to strengthen commercial operations, while Tobi Adepoju has been brought in as sports director to oversee long-term squad development. The latest success follows a history of instability, including relegation and promotion challenges.
