4 Out of 32 Airports Handle 96% of Nigeria’s Passenger Traffic – Rewane

During the 2025 League of Airports Aviation Correspondents Conference in Lagos, Bismarck Rewane, the Managing Director of Financial Derivatives Company, revealed that only four out of Nigeria's 32 airports handle 96% of the country's total passenger traffic. He highlighted the inefficiency, politicization, and poor project viability in the aviation sector, leading to a decline in domestic passenger volume for the second consecutive year.

Rewane emphasized the need for proper infrastructure and operational models, citing a loss of $4 billion in the industry from 2020 to 2022.
