Onyema: Transit Facility Key to Developing Airport Hub

Air Peace Limited CEO, Allen Onyema, praised the federal government's plan to construct a transit facility at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos as part of the airport's infrastructure transformation. Onyema emphasized the importance of the transit facility in developing the airport into a hub, enabling Nigerian airlines to compete with foreign counterparts.

He highlighted the need for such a facility for seamless passenger transit without immigration processes, which would give Nigerian carriers a competitive edge. Onyema also mentioned challenges faced by Nigerian airlines, such as high insurance premiums and limited access to credit facilities with high interest rates.

He expressed optimism about the government's efforts to support the aviation industry and improve infrastructure, which would benefit airlines like Air Peace operating in West Africa.
