Gombe Governor Raises Alarm Over Child Trafficking Crisis

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya has raised an alarm regarding the trafficking of 48 children aged between two and five, who have reportedly been taken to unknown destinations. This announcement was made during a speech on Friday, highlighting the urgent need for decisive action to combat this emerging threat and ensure the safety of residents.

The governor linked this issue to broader security concerns in the state, questioning the factors contributing to the rise in insecurity. In addition to addressing child trafficking, Yahaya announced that 70,000 residents would benefit from this year's Ramadan food distribution program, which is part of the administration's ongoing efforts to support vulnerable citizens during the holy month.
