Gombe Governor Inuwa Yahaya Reports 48 Missing Children

On Friday, Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya disclosed that 48 children, aged between two and five years, have been reported missing, coinciding with a rise in child theft cases in the state. The governor made this announcement during the inauguration of a Ramadan palliative distribution exercise.

He expressed concern over the children's alleged abduction to unknown destinations outside the country and emphasized the uncertainty regarding their possible recovery. Yahaya urged residents to support government security measures to ensure the safety of lives and properties.

He recalled a recent incident of child abduction in the Orji Estate area, which followed the relaxation of a motorcycle ban. Additionally, he defended the state government's ban on metal scrap deals, explaining that these measures were introduced to curb vandalism and theft of public infrastructure.

The Ramadan palliative program aims to benefit 70,000 residents by distributing food items such as rice, macaroni, spaghetti, cooking oil, and sugar, with a commitment to transparency and fairness in the distribution process.
