Nigerian Couple Faces 50 Years for Credit Card Fraud

Opeyemi Olujobi, 28, and his wife Jenni Davidson, 29, are facing charges that could lead to a maximum of 50 years in prison following their arrest for an alleged credit card fraud scheme in New York. According to a statement from Jai Clayton, U.S.

Attorney for the Southern District of New York, the couple is accused of using stolen identities to access hundreds of credit card accounts and making unauthorized purchases amounting to $500,000. The fraudulent activities reportedly took place from May 2023 to October 2024, targeting numerous victims through identity theft.

The suspects allegedly impersonated legitimate account holders using personal details such as Social Security numbers and dates of birth. They are charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud, and bank fraud, with Davidson also facing money laundering charges.

Both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
