Federal Fire Service Enhances Response to Fire Disasters

Samuel Adeyemi, the Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), stated that the service has been fully repositioned under his leadership to effectively respond to fire disasters across Nigeria. This announcement was made on Tuesday in Abuja during the unveiling of newly constructed Quarter Guards at the Wuse Command and the National Headquarters of the FFS.

Adeyemi highlighted that the project symbolizes a culture of ownership, commitment, discipline, and pride within the service. He noted that this initiative was significant as it was conceived, designed, and executed voluntarily by the officers, marking a historic moment where personnel chose to leave a lasting legacy based on belief in the service's vision.

Adeyemi also redirected funds intended for a grand reception to purchase mattresses and other welfare items for firefighters nationwide. His administration has initiated a Medical Intervention Scheme and increased the interest-free loan for personnel from N300,000 to N500,000, among other welfare enhancements.
