Six SDP Supporters Die in Lafia Crash During Campaign

On July 28, 2025, six supporters of Mohammed Adamu, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate and former Inspector-General of Police, were killed in a road crash near the Lafia Flyover in Nasarawa. The victims were en route to a political event in Awe Local Government Area when their vehicle lost its brakes after leaving the SDP secretariat on Jos Road.
The vehicle collided with a J5 bus, resulting in 29 passengers being thrown from the vehicle. Police confirmed four fatalities, while the campaign organization reported six deaths.
One person died at the scene, and three others later succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. An additional 11 passengers sustained minor injuries.
