Ex-IGP Adamu Missing from INEC Nasarawa Candidates List

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the list of candidates cleared to contest the Nasarawa State governorship election, which notably did not include Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, the former Inspector General of Police. The list features candidates from various parties, including Ahmed Aliyu Wadada of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Musa Adamu Angbazo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Abdullahi Yammani, the Campaign Director General of Adamu’s Gubernatorial Campaign Organisation, confirmed that Adamu has officially registered with the SDP after resigning from the APC, where he lost the party’s primary. Yammani stated that Adamu is fully committed to contesting the governorship and has completed his registration online.

He expressed optimism that the omission from the INEC list, which currently lists Musa Adamu Angbazo as the SDP candidate, would be resolved, asserting that they possess all necessary documents to validate Adamu’s candidacy. This situation is expected to spark further political discussions in the state as parties prepare for the election.
