6th Efunkoya Table Tennis Kicks off Today with Coaching Clinic

The 6th Efunkoya Table Tennis Championships begin today with a coaching clinic for young talents in Nigeria. The annual event, held at the National Stadium Molade Hall and Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, aims to discover and nurture emerging players using modern coaching techniques.

Participants from various states and clubs across the country will compete for scholarships awarded by the Efunkoya Sports Foundation. Last year's champion, Matthew Kuti, will be defending his title.

The Foundation's theme this year, "Producing Educated Champions," emphasizes the importance of education alongside sports. The coaching clinic, led by top coaches, will focus on physical exercises and modern techniques.

The tournament will run from August 14 to 16, with winners receiving educational scholarships and quarterfinalists earning automatic qualification for the Atanda Musa National Invitational Top 16 Classic. Additionally, this year's tournament will feature deaf athletes, showcasing the Foundation's commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunities in sports.
