Seven Injured in Jikwoyi Building Collapse Incident

On Friday, a two-story building in Jikwoyi, Abuja Municipal Area Council, FCT, collapsed, resulting in injuries to seven individuals. The incident occurred while 17 workers were on the upper floor of the building.

Five workers were trapped, while a lone male on the ground level was also injured. Emergency response teams, including the FCT Emergency Management Department, National Emergency Management Agency, Federal Capital Development Authority, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Fire Service, and FCT Police Command, were deployed to the scene to conduct rescue operations.

The injured workers were taken to a local hospital in Jikwoyi for treatment. As of the time of reporting, efforts were ongoing to ensure the rescue of individuals still missing under the rubble.
