Tracy Ohiri Accuses Lawyer of Coercion in Umahi Case

Tracy Ohiri, a businesswoman, has accused her lawyer Marshal Abubakar of pressuring her to retract allegations against Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, concerning sexual harassment and unpaid campaign debts. Ohiri claims that she was coerced into recording a video retracting her claims under the promise of a $70,000 payment, which she alleges has not been fulfilled.

She recorded conversations with Abubakar, who allegedly threatened her and prevented her from discussing the matter with others. Ohiri has called for an investigation by the Nigerian Bar Association into Abubakar's conduct, describing it as unethical.

The situation escalated to police involvement, resulting in her arrest in Lagos for alleged cyberbullying linked to social media posts. Ohiri was later arraigned in a magistrate court in Abuja on defamation charges.

Umahi has denied the allegations, calling them baseless, while Abubakar claims there was no coercion and that no evidence supports Ohiri's claims of a contractual agreement.
