Ohiri Accuses Lawyer of Coercion in Umahi Apology Case

Traci Ohiri, a businesswoman, has accused human rights lawyer Marshal Abubakar of threatening her to apologize to David Umahi, the Minister of Works. This dispute began when Ohiri accused Umahi of misappropriating funds related to a supply contract from a decade ago, which ignited a significant online movement led by various activists and bloggers.

The situation escalated when a video surfaced on Thursday night, showing Ohiri offering a closed-door apology to Umahi. This led to widespread rumors of a potential N100 million settlement.

Ohiri clarified that she was compelled to make the apology in exchange for a promise of full payment. She has called upon the Nigerian Bar Association, led by Afam Osigwe, to investigate the actions of Abubakar regarding this matter.
