81-Year-Old British Citizen Allowed Back Into UK After Airport Ordeal

An 81-year-old British citizen, Hannah Dankwa, who was turned back at a UK airport while traveling from Ghana, has finally been allowed back into the UK after four months. Dankwa, a long-time UK resident and cancer patient, was denied entry, leaving her daughter stranded.

The intervention of Windrush Commissioner Reverend Clive Foster led to Dankwa being granted an emergency travel document within 24 hours. Dankwa, part of the Windrush generation, had lived in the UK since 1973.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by long-term residents and citizens in navigating immigration policies and the importance of timely interventions in such cases.
