INEC Reports 93% Results Uploaded for FCT Council Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that as of February 22, 2026, 93% of the results from the FCT council election, conducted on February 21, 2026, have been uploaded to the IREV portal. The announcement was made by the INEC AG Director of Voter Education and Publicity.

Results were expected to be announced late on February 21, except for Kuje Area Council, where results were delayed until 3:30 PM on February 22, 2026, due to challenging terrain in the Kabi ward. INEC expressed appreciation to residents of the FCT for their peaceful conduct and cooperation throughout the electoral process.

By 2:00 PM on February 22, 2026, the commission confirmed that poll unit results had been uploaded to the IREV portal, allowing public access. However, there were concerns raised about voter migration to new poll units and voter apathy compared to the 2022 polls.
