Hidden Funding Behind South Africa's Anti-Immigrant Movements

Kio Amachree, a Stockholm-based Nigerian writer, criticized the recent anti-immigrant movements in South Africa, asserting that they are not grassroots efforts but rather funded by external sources. He pointed out that the movement, led by Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma and supported by regional agitators like Mthokozisi Gumede, is a political project masquerading as patriotism.

Amachree referenced research from Wits University indicating that the movement lacks genuine grassroots support, with significant external funding involved. Former President Thabo Mbeki described the movement as a counter-revolutionary project.

Amachree emphasized that the actions of Black South Africans against fellow Africans serve the interests of those who historically oppressed them, undermining the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. He called for transparency regarding the financial backers of these movements, stating that the true authors of this division remain hidden while benefiting from the chaos.
