CAN Criticizes Nollywood Movie Title "A Very Dirty Christmas" as Disrespectful to Christian Faith

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has strongly criticized the title of a new Nollywood movie, "A Very Dirty Christmas," for being offensive and disrespectful to the Christian faith, particularly during the sacred Christmas season. Archbishop Daniel Okoh emphasized the need for creative freedom in the film industry but urged for responsible and sensitive expression, especially in a religiously diverse society like Nigeria.

CAN called on the Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) to scrutinize such titles before approval, and the Actor's Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to take a clear stand on religious themes in movies. Actress Ini Edo was singled out for showing insensitivity to the concerns of the Christian community.
