House Committee Demands CBN's 2025 Audit Details

The Committee on Delegated Legislation of the House of Representatives has reached out to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Jim Obazee, and auditing firms KPMG and Ernst & Young (EY) regarding the CBN’s disputed 2025 audited accounts. In letters dated September 22, 2026, committee chairman Olufemi Richard Bamisile requested the CBN to provide its summary consolidated and separate financial statements for 2024 and 2025, along with the full audited versions.

Jim Obazee, who previously called for the withdrawal and restatement of the CBN’s 2025 accounts, is to submit an 8-page analysis and appear before the Committee to explain alleged irregularities. KPMG and EY were also asked to provide copies of the audited financial statements for both years.

Bamisile emphasized the importance of the CBN’s financial integrity, noting that any allegations of irregularity must be thoroughly scrutinized, especially when raised by a respected authority like Obazee. He pointed out the lack of public response from CBN management regarding these serious concerns.
