African Alliance Party Urges Calm After Missing INEC Registration for 2027 Elections

The African Alliance Party (AAP) issued a statement urging its members nationwide to remain calm after missing the registration deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2027 general elections. AAP's chairman, Olusegun Peter, reassured members to stay focused and continue engaging in relevant processes despite the setback.

INEC recently approved the registration of two new political parties following a rigorous screening exercise during its first regular consultative meeting with political parties for 2026. One of the newly registered parties is the Nigeria Democrat Congress (NDC), positioning itself as a centrist party focusing on social justice, equity, and grassroots mobilization.

Despite missing the latest registration round, AAP remains undeterred and calls for sustained mobilization efforts at the grassroots level in preparation for the upcoming elections.
