Abducted Kaduna Christians Regain Freedom After Mass Abduction

In Kaduna, Nigeria, a group of Christians who were abducted by gunmen from three church communities in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area, have regained their freedom. The mass abduction occurred on January 18, with 167 worshippers taken during church services.

Initially denied by the police, the abductions were later confirmed to have taken place on February 1, with 80 worshippers released, while others remained captive until their recent release. The freed worshippers are currently in the custody of the Kaduna State Government, awaiting an official announcement.

It is unclear whether a ransom was paid for their release. The security operation led to the successful release of the abducted individuals.
