Abejide Critiques ADC Suspension, Urges Party Loyalty

Joseph Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives and leader of a faction within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), addressed his suspension from the party during a press conference in Abuja. He criticized the frequent political defections that undermine the party's stability and stressed the importance of loyalty among members.

Abejide, who has been with the ADC since 2017, highlighted the need for sustained commitment to build a strong political platform. He expressed concerns about recent developments within the party, including the national convention, and urged party leaders to resolve internal challenges promptly.

He warned that unresolved disputes could affect the party's preparedness for the 2027 general elections. Abejide also claimed that the recent expulsion from the party was not known to him and described the national convention held on April 14 as null and void, asserting that it violated the Electoral Act of 1999.
