Leke Abejide Resigns from ADC Over Leadership Crisis

Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives for Yagba Federal Constituency in Kogi State, has officially resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) due to ongoing leadership crises within the party. He described his decision as painful yet inevitable, stating that the internal instability made it impossible for him to remain in the party.

Abejide announced his resignation during a press conference in Abuja, emphasizing the necessity to protect his political future and ensure effective representation for his constituents. He disclosed plans to align with a mainstream political party but did not reveal which platform he intends to join.

Abejide has been a significant contributor to the ADC, providing substantial financial support over the years. He formally relinquished his leadership role to the current national chairman, Nafiu Bala, and expressed his best wishes for Bala amid ongoing legal battles concerning allegations of party hijacking.

Despite claims of expulsion from the ADC, Abejide insists his exit was voluntary, aimed at addressing the lingering crises within the party.
