Kalu Rejects Alleged APC Endorsement Plot in Abia

Mascot Kalu, a governorship aspirant for the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has publicly rejected an alleged plot to endorse a candidate without his consent. In a statement issued on Sunday, Kalu described the actions of certain APC members, including local government chairmen and stakeholders, as attempts to impose a candidate through a meeting in Umuahia aimed at re-electing Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He warned that any consensus arrangement made without the involvement of all aspirants would be null and void, asserting that the APC should not be used as a tool for personal ambitions. Kalu cautioned the state working committee against actions that could undermine party unity and stressed the importance of adhering to due process and internal democracy.

He reaffirmed his determination to continue his campaign and urged party officials to avoid attending meetings convened by interest groups that do not represent the broader party. Kalu emphasized that he would not be intimidated into stepping aside from the race.
