Abia APC Endorses Benjamin Kalu for 2027 Governorship

During a stakeholders' meeting held in Umuahia, members of the Abia State chapter of the APC endorsed Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, as their candidate for the 2027 governorship election. The meeting included participants from three senatorial zones and 17 local government areas, where party leaders urged Kalu to declare his intent to run.

Kalu expressed gratitude for the endorsement and indicated that a formal response would be made available in the coming weeks. In contrast, Uzor Kalu, a prominent aspirant within the party, condemned the endorsement, alleging that it was an orchestrated attempt to impose a candidate without the involvement of all aspirants.

He warned that such actions would be met with strong resistance, labeling the endorsement as illegitimate and unacceptable.
