Abia community bans sale of cooking gas in market

The community of Ebem in Ohafia, Abia State, has taken a decisive step to ban the sale of cooking gas in their market to prevent potential disasters. The ban was announced in a communique issued after an emergency meeting at the Ebem Ujurueze Palace, attended by Council Chiefs and Elders.

The paramount ruler of Ebem Ohafia, Ezie Ukoha Kalu, along with other community leaders, condemned cultism, gangsterism, and drug abuse, which led to the ban. Parents were urged to monitor their children, and landlords were directed to evict offenders.

The community also warned against unlawful possession of arms, with offenders to be handed over to law enforcement. Additionally, a quit notice was given to scrap dealers, who were linked to rising reports of vandalism and property damage in the area.
