Abia Community Demands Clarity on Garri Plant Location

The community of Umuhu Ezechi in Abia State is demanding clarity on the exact location of a garri processing plant, which is part of a federal government project valued at N348,129,596. The project, reportedly approved for execution in the Bend Local Government Area, has raised concerns among residents, particularly as they have been unable to identify the facility despite claims of its completion.

Emenik Stanlei, a village leader, voiced the community's frustrations, stating that the lack of transparency is misleading. The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has been mentioned in relation to the project, which is said to be located at Bend Bypass, not in Umuhu Ezechi as previously suggested.

Levinu Nwabughiogu, Chief of Staff to the Deputy Speaker, confirmed the plant's location but faced scrutiny from the community regarding the project's visibility and existence. The residents are calling for public identification of the facility to verify its completion.
