Abia Governor Partners with UNDP on Youth Empowerment Initiative

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has committed to partnering with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to enhance youth empowerment initiatives in the state. During a meeting with a delegation led by Akubo Adegb, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President, Otti expressed readiness to collaborate on the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) 2.0.

The visit aimed to secure Abia State's formal participation in the program and identify priority areas for youth empowerment. Adegb highlighted the alignment of NJFP 2.0 with the state's development agenda, focusing on digital economy, creative economy, and energy as key areas for collaboration.

Otti emphasized the government's commitment to empowering thousands of youths through targeted programs, such as the TechRis program. The state's commitment to the NJFP 2.0 was reiterated by Chineny Mba Uzoukwu, the Principal Secretary and Chief Strategy Officer to the Governor, emphasizing the importance of bridging the gap between academic learning and practical societal relevance.
