Group Purchases APC Forms for Kalu's Gubernatorial Bid

A group has acquired nomination forms from the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the current Deputy Speaker, Kalu, to contest in the upcoming gubernatorial elections in Abia State. This initiative was announced over the weekend by Jame Uko, who emphasized Kalu's significant contributions to Nigeria's legislative process since 2019.

Uko described Kalu as a unifying figure whose leadership style is driven by consensus, which is essential for Abia State's progress. Retired Major General Jack Nwaogbu commended Kalu's role in rebuilding the APC in Abia and the South East, noting the party's renewed strength over the past seven months due to Kalu's efforts.

Barr Uzo Azubuik, speaking on behalf of stakeholders in Abia South, urged Kalu to heed the call to contest. Kalu expressed gratitude for the gesture and indicated that he would consult widely before making a final decision, emphasizing the need to strengthen the APC in the South East and mobilize support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
