Abia Driver Returns N400,000 Left by Passenger

The Abia State Government has praised commercial bus driver Onyekachi Ikpendu for returning over N400,000 that passenger Nkechi John left in his vehicle. Dr Chimezie Ukaegbu, the state Commissioner for Transport, described Ikpendu's actions as a commendable example of integrity and responsible citizenship.

The incident occurred when John, a trader, forgot her bag containing the money after alighting at Ubani Market. Upon realizing her loss, she rushed to the Nnenna Oti Bus Terminal, where Ikpendu had secured the cash and belongings, waiting for her return.

Ikpendu stated he had no intention of keeping the money, emphasizing that he prefers earning a living through honest labor. John expressed gratitude to Ikpendu and commended Governor Alex Otti for the terminal's establishment, which facilitated the recovery of her belongings.

Ukaegbu urged residents to continue demonstrating honesty and integrity, highlighting the positive change in mindset among the people of Abia State.
