Tinubu and Uzodimma Empower 2,500 Women in Imo State

In Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, collaborated with Governor Hope Uzodimma to unveil a significant women empowerment initiative, benefiting 2,500 women and vulnerable persons. This program, organized under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Women Economic Empowerment Programme in partnership with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), provided essential business-support equipment and cash grants aimed at improving livelihoods and fostering sustainable enterprises.

Senator Tinubu commended Governor Uzodimma for the transformative changes in Imo State, stating, “Imo is bubbling,” and acknowledged the importance of cooperation between federal and state governments for the benefit of citizens. The initiative focused on empowering women, who play a crucial role in Nigeria's economy, by addressing gaps in equipment and capital necessary for business expansion.

Distributed items included freezers, gas cookers with ovens, generators, and industrial grinding machines.
