Abia Lawmaker Erondu Jr. Defects to APC, Backs Tinubu

Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jr., the lawmaker for Obingwa West Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, officially defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday. His decision was announced during a reception in Obingwa Local Government Area, Abia State, where he was welcomed by APC leaders, including former Deputy Governor Chri Akoma.

Erondu Jr. emphasized the need for sustained support for the APC and pledged to mobilize 5,000 supporters from his constituency. He urged the people of Obingwa to back the APC and declared his total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, describing the reform policies as bold and necessary for Nigeria's long-term growth.

The defection follows a trend of lawmakers moving to the APC, with Erondu Jr. being one of three lawmakers from the Abia House to join the party recently.
