Abia Lawmaker Defects from PDP to LP Alongside Key Stakeholders in Ukwa East

Abia State House of Assembly member representing Ukwa East, Hon. Levi Obianyi, has switched political allegiance from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the Labour Party (LP). His decision was influenced by Governor Alex Otti's governance impact and inclusivity.

During the announcement, key political figures from Ukwa East, including Hon. Paul Taribo, Chief Bright Benson, and Ladi Chinedu Brown, also defected to the LP. The move was made public during a visit to Otti, where Obianyi expressed his intent to join LP, praising the warm reception received.

Governor Otti highlighted his administration's achievements and pledged support for the new LP members. The defection ceremony included the declaration of support for LP by various stakeholders from Ukwa East, such as Prof. Kamalu, Barr.

Ben Ogbonna, and Chief Theresa Aja. The event showcased a significant political realignment in the region, with promises of enhanced development and welfare initiatives under the LP.
