Otti Appoints Dr. Kalu as ABSUTH Board Chairman

On a recent announcement, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State appointed Dr. Ezinn Chinyer Benjamin Kalu as the chairman of the management board of the Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH).

Dr. Kalu, who is the wife of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu representing Bende Federal Constituency, is expected to lead the newly reconstituted board as part of a broader strategy to revitalize the hospital and position it as a center of excellence in healthcare delivery and medical research.

The reconstitution of the ABSUTH board aims to drive reforms, enhance service quality, and improve infrastructure. Alongside Dr.

Kalu, the board includes several professionals such as Prof. Nneka Chioma Okoronkwo, Chief Medical Director, Dr.

Kelechi Omend, Dr. Templ Nwosu, and Dr.

Patrick Umezurik, reflecting a blend of administrative, academic, and clinical expertise. Governor Otti expressed confidence in the new leadership to deliver tangible improvements in the hospital's operations.
