Abia State Partners with US Group for Health Training

Abia State has entered into a partnership with the US-based Qantu Medic Foundation to enhance the training of health workers in the state. This initiative was disclosed by Princ Okei Kanu, the state health commissioner, following a meeting of the state executive council led by Governor Alex Otti.

The collaboration aims to enable health workers to adopt best practices in healthcare delivery. The state plans to operationalize 53 fully equipped primary healthcare centers as part of this initiative.

Additionally, a pilot project for health improvement will commence in selected hospitals across the state. Kanu also announced the upcoming annual general meeting of the Paediatric Association of Nigeria, scheduled for 2027, and highlighted the successful measles-rubella vaccination campaign that achieved 96% coverage.

Furthermore, Governor Otti has initiated the construction of the Enyimba International Hotel in Aba, marking a significant milestone in urban renewal and infrastructure development.
