Abia State to Become Film and Entertainment Hub

On Saturday, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State announced his administration's commitment to making the state a major hub for film production, entertainment, and tourism. This declaration was made during a meeting with a delegation of Nollywood practitioners led by producer Franci Ifeakandu in Isialangwa South Local Government Area.

Otti praised Nollywood for its efforts to showcase Abia's rich cultural heritage and history through film projects. He stated that while the government will not directly sponsor private film projects, it remains committed to providing the necessary support to create an enabling environment for the growth of the entertainment industry.

Otti revealed plans to establish an entertainment city in Aba, designed to provide world-class infrastructure for filmmakers and creative professionals. The government has already begun the process of land acquisition for this project.

Ifeakandu expressed gratitude for Otti's support, highlighting that the film project will feature 2,000 cast members and cover various aspects of Abia's history and cultural tourism potential.
