Dapo Abiodun Honors Lucia Onabanjo, Supports Cathedral Project

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun honored the late Lucia Onabanjo, a woman recognized for her modest service, strong moral principles, and steadfast family support, during her funeral mass held on Friday at St. Sebastian Catholic Cathedral.

Abiodun noted that Mama Onabanjo led a modest and orderly life, deliberately avoiding the spotlight while earning moral values through her faith and humility. He emphasized her significant impact on her family and community, stating that her life exemplified the critical role women play in shaping societal moral guidance and resilience.

In tribute, Governor Abiodun pledged support for the completion of the cathedral project, ensuring it stands as a testament to her enduring legacy. He described Mama Onabanjo as a devoted wife and mother who promoted discipline and faith within her household, standing firmly by her husband, Olabisi Onabanjo, during challenging political moments, including the 1983 military coup.

The funeral mass was attended by several dignitaries, including former governors, lawmakers, traditional rulers, and prominent political figures from Ogun State and beyond.
