Delta Governor Urges Service at Nwaoboshi's Funeral

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori called on political leaders to prioritize service to the people during the funeral of former Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, who was laid to rest in his hometown of Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area. Nwaoboshi, who represented Delta North in the National Assembly from 2015 to 2023, passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 68 due to a brief illness.

The funeral mass took place at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Ibusa, where Oborevwori highlighted the importance of humility and respect in governance.

He urged leaders to rise above political rivalries, stressing that Nigeria's progress relies on cooperation and collective responsibility. The governor emphasized that true greatness is defined by the impact one has on others rather than the length of life.

The service was attended by prominent Nigerian figures across various political, ethnic, and religious divides, including Deputy Governor Sir Mondai Onyem and former Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
