Gbenga Daniel: Abiodun's Win Depended on Political Team

Gbenga Daniel, the former governor of Ogun State, claimed that current Governor Dapo Abiodun would not have won the governorship seat without the assistance of his political team. Speaking to newsmen in his hometown of Sagamu, Daniel expressed regret for not supporting Abiodun's re-election bid, believing that such support would have made it easier for Abiodun to secure victory in the upcoming elections.

Daniel highlighted the importance of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the political landscape of Ogun State, particularly in the context of the 2023 elections, where Ladi Adebutu is the PDP candidate from the Remo zone. He also voiced concerns regarding the lack of adequate recognition for contributions made by political allies and stressed the need for prioritizing public interest over unnecessary political disputes.

Daniel called for mature leadership capable of consolidating the developmental gains in Ogun State as the political cycle approaches.
