Abiodun Acknowledges Daniel's Role in Ogun East Senate Bid

During a meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Iperu Remo, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun highlighted his significant role in Gbenga Daniel's political career, particularly in Daniel's 2003 gubernatorial victory under the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Abiodun expressed a desire to repay Daniel's past support amid media attacks, stating that he would provide quality representation for Ogun East if elected to the Senate in 2027.

He announced his intent to contest the Ogun East Senate seat and mentioned that a recent APC caucus meeting in Ijebu Ode had adopted him as the consensus candidate for the district. Despite this, Daniel has purchased a nomination form to continue his bid for the Senate seat.

Abiodun also recalled the political dynamics of 2003, including the support from former Deputy Governor Segun Adesegun and the need for collaboration among party members to ensure effective representation.
