Gbenga Daniel Claims Role in Dapo Abiodun's Election

Gbenga Daniel, the former governor of Ogun State and senator representing Ogun East, stated that his political team significantly contributed to Dapo Abiodun's election as governor. During a discussion marking his 70th birthday in Sagamu, Ogun State, Daniel reflected on the political developments in Ogun and noted that without their support, Abiodun might not have secured the governorship.

He expressed regret for not supporting Abiodun's re-election bid, believing that such support would have made it easier for the governor to win. Daniel highlighted the importance of mature leadership and prioritizing public interest over personal ego, especially as Ogun prepares for the next political cycle.

He also mentioned his departure from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and clarified that his political decisions were ideologically driven. Daniel acknowledged the need for inclusivity in Ogun's development and stressed the importance of balancing economic interests with political ones, citing various initiatives undertaken during his administration.
