Izuegbu's Arraignment Delayed Over Absence in Court

The arraignment of Ms. Anthonet Izuegbu, a friend of Regina Daniel, was stalled due to her absence from the Federal High Court in Abuja on July 16, 2026.

Izuegbu is facing charges related to alleged illegal substances and criminal defamation against Senator Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniel's husband. The case has been adjourned to September 15, 2026.

According to a statement from Nwoko's media team, Izuegbu's arrest is linked to public statements she made alleging physical assault against Laila Nwoko, which the team claims are entirely false and unsubstantiated. They assert that no incidents of violence occurred and that Izuegbu's statements were part of a coordinated attempt to reinforce previous unfounded allegations of domestic violence.

Furthermore, the team indicated that Izuegbu allegedly handled illegal substances and made derogatory remarks on social media, which constitute criminal defamation under the law.
