ADC Demands Prosecution of Nafiu Gombe Over Forgery

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has demanded the prosecution of Nafiu Gombe, a faction leader, following allegations that he submitted a forged claim to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding access to the commission's nomination portal for the 2027 general elections. The ADC issued this statement on Tuesday through its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, after INEC clarified that it did not grant Nafiu Bala access to the nomination portal.

The statement described the claims made by Bala as entirely false and accused him of attempting to mislead the Nigerian public. The ADC emphasized that the allegations of unauthorized access to INEC's restricted nomination portal are serious and warrant investigation by law enforcement agencies.

The party urged INEC to take necessary steps to ensure that Bala and anyone involved in promoting falsehoods are investigated and prosecuted according to the law. This situation has arisen amidst ongoing leadership crises within the ADC, particularly between factions led by David Mark and Bala.
