President Tinubu Launches 9th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State

President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the 9th National Youth Games (NYG) in Asaba, Delta State, on August 29, 2025, with the absence of some states but the presence of rising stars. The event aims to discover and nurture talent for local and international competitions.

Tinubu praised the platform for talent development and pledged government support for sports growth, citing recent assistance to the Super Falcons and Tigress teams. The National Sports Commission, led by Mallam Shehu Dikko, and Delta State government were commended for their roles.

Asaba's modern sports facilities were highlighted as a hub for such events. Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori emphasized youth unity and support for grassroots sports.
