Abubakar Elected NPA Chairman, Aims to Boost Nigerian Polo

Suleiman Abubakar has been elected as the new chairman of the Nigerian Polo Association (NPA) and has pledged to take Nigerian polo to greater heights. In his acceptance speech delivered shortly after his election in Ibadan, Abubakar expressed gratitude to the Nigerian polo community for their confidence in him.

He emphasized his commitment to expanding the frontiers of Nigerian polo, which he believes should reflect Nigeria's status as a powerhouse in African polo. Abubakar announced plans to establish a national polo center in Abuja and to host major tournaments, including the Nigerian Gold Cup, which is set to commence fully next year.

He highlighted the importance of polo as a noble game and its potential as a significant corporate sport in Nigeria, aiming to enhance camaraderie and the rich history associated with the sport.
