Abuja Building Collapse Claims Five Lives, Ten Rescued

On Saturday morning, a three-story building collapsed in the Durumi 3 area near Gudu Market, Abuja, leading to the confirmed deaths of at least five individuals and the rescue of ten others. The incident prompted an immediate response from emergency services, with ongoing efforts to evacuate victims believed to be trapped under the rubble.

The construction site is located around Gaduwa Estate in the Gudu District. Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, issued a statement confirming the incident and directing that casualties receive free medical treatment.

Dr. Adedolapo Fasaw, the FCT Mandate Secretary for Health Services, visited the scene and noted the challenging conditions faced by rescue and medical teams.

Emergency personnel, including officials from the Federal Fire Service, security agencies, health workers, and local volunteers, were observed combing through debris as anxious residents gathered at the site.
