Five Dead, Ten Rescued in Abuja Building Collapse

On Saturday morning, a three-story building collapsed in the Durumi 3 area near Gudu Market in Abuja, leading to the confirmed deaths of five individuals and the rescue of ten others. The incident prompted an immediate emergency response, with efforts ongoing to evacuate victims believed to be trapped beneath the rubble.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, confirmed the situation in a statement issued in Abuja. He directed that casualties receive free medical treatment as part of emergency response measures.

Dr. Adedolapo Fasaw, the Secretary of Health Services Environment Secretariat, visited the scene to oversee medical interventions for the victims.
