Abuja Lawyer Charged With Forgery Granted ₦30m Bail Amidst Legal Battle

Abuja-based lawyer Ibitad Bukola and co-defendant Barrister Victor Giwa are facing charges of document forgery and impersonation before the FCT High Court. They were granted ₦30 million bail by Justice Jude Onwuegbuzi.

The prosecution, led by Erisco Asaph, opposed the bail application citing legal grounds. The court ordered the defendants to deposit their international passports and remain in custody at Suleja Correctional Facility until bail conditions are met.

The trial is set to continue on October 30, 2025.
